MAUREEN BLANEY FLIETNER

Maureen is a Wisconsin artist who explores various mediums but is particularly intrigued with watercolor’s opportunities for fluid freedom, glowing transparency, and unexpected magic. Inspired by relatives and a friend who were talented artists, she learned from university classes and in-person workshops and online offerings from national and internationally known artists. While her path took her into journalism and then a career as an award-winning freelance writer, she enjoys pursuing her creative side. Her goal is to connect with viewers and to prompt them to look for the beauty in their natural environments. Maureen’s work has been juried into several exhibits including Overture Center for the Arts, Neville Public Museum, Miller Art Museum, and The Art Garage. She also has exhibited in The Hardy Gallery’s annual wall-to-wall juried exhibits.
