Maria Victoria Walker first explored the world of art as a casual afternoon hobby, painting while balancing a corporate career and caring for her family. Although she had no formal training, her passion for art grew over the years, leading to the development of her artistic persona, Lila Brochá. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, she immigrated to the United States in 1989.
Lila Brochá, meaning “purple brush,” is a visual artist and former Data Architect whose work explores storytelling through color and form. After retiring from a decades-long corporate career in 2021, she committed fully to her artistic practice. Her paintings, known for their vibrant palettes and whimsical compositions, often depict cityscapes and natural environments. Each piece invites viewers into a layered narrative, offering a visual reflection of memory, emotion, and personal transformation.
Since retiring in 2021, art has become her full-time pursuit. That same year, she joined SAGE Green Bay and later, in 2022, became a member of the Green Bay Art Colony. Over the past three years, she has participated in SAGE Green Bay’s Toy Maker’s Fundraiser at the Neville Public Museum. As a member of the Green Bay Art Colony, she has exhibited at their Annual Juried Exhibit at the Neville since 2022 and has had pieces accepted into the 77th, 78th and 79th Neville Art Annual Juried Exhibits.
Vicky’s artwork has been displayed at several notable venues, including The Art Garage, Green Bay City Hall, Art Connective, Roberta’s Gallery at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, S.A.G.E. Gallery, Wisconsin Maritime Museum, The Hardy Gallery, John Michael Kohler Art Center and the Neville Public Museum. Most recently, she had a piece accepted for the "Knock First" Exhibit at the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, 62nd Wall-to-Wall Juried Exhibit at the Hardy Gallery in Ephraim, WI and the 79th Art Annual Juried Exhibit at the Neville Public Museum.
