My artist name Lila Brochá means purple brush. I recently retired from a regional bank in the Green Bay area as a Data Architect. I grew up in Manila, Philippines and graduated with Bachelors degree, major in Accounting from the University of the East. I’ve been married for over 32 years to a retired Navy First Class and has 3 children. My family moved to Wisconsin over 20 years ago when my husband retired from the military. I am a self-taught acrylic painter and I’ve been painting for many years as a hobby.
Expressing one’s self can be a challenge . When one sees my wardrobe it consists of neutrals: white, beige, grey and black. Boring as one might say. However, I gave myself a promise that for my paintings, I’d like to express and share stories, memories, and feelings in the most colorful way apart from the colors of my boring wardrobe. When painting, I discover what I really want to say and the story I want to tell. I often paint cityscapes, and whimsical scenes in nature on large round wood, canvases and purses. For me, my paintings are products of my imagination, are about the pleasure of remembering memories, and sharing my delight in colors.
